PokerStars player ‘SoyDelGlobo’ has won the MicroMillions II Main Event, scooping the first prize of $157,218.68 after finishing first from a field of 65,063. The Argentine took the lion’s share of a huge $1,302,260 prize pool after defeating ‘cokars’ heads-up in the $22 buy-in tourney.

The Main Event was just one of 100 micro-stakes tournaments held over the past 11 days, which has seen dozens of recreational poker players turn a few dollars into thousands.  Across the festival there were 1,288,221 entries, which generated a total MicroMillions II series prize pool of $7,966,209.85, surpassing the initial $5 million guarantee by almost $3 million.

It was a closely fought contest, but the MicroMillions II leaderboard winner was ‘fabio_bruxo’ from Brazil, who cashed 39 times throughout the series and receives the MicroMillions II trophy and a PokerStars Caribbean Adventure 2013 package worth $16,000.

Players who came 2-10 receive $1,050 WCOOP 2012 tickets, while those who finished 11-100 each receive a $215 WCOOP 2012 ticket.
